OWLS AC Junior Athletes One Day Training Camp

Dear Parent
The club will be holding a one day training camp at Charnwood Forest (Bradgate Park) on Thursday October 22nd (half term week).
The aim of the trip is to introduce youngsters to a variety of activities which will accelerate their running fitness, performance and education and act as a great bonding opportunity where friendships can be made and cemented. The club has held over 100 of these trips over the years and they have proven to be very effective and great fun!
All activities are risk free and will involve running and relay activities and associated activities like orienteering , log rolling, camp craft , map reading etc.
The day will be led by Chief Coach Wayne Walker who has taken expeditions to Everest Base Camp, cycling and running the Santiago de Compostella Pilgrim Route and treks to the highest peaks in North Africa, Spain and Poland and dozens of other expeditions at home and abroad. He is joined by Club Sec and Child Protection Officer Sandy Villetet a qualified run leader and Teaching assistant who herself has done Irelands Sheepshead way. Both are CRB certified. We hope to have a number of senior athletes in support.
