Respect to you Mr Miles for being a tee total, although it would be interesting to know your exact reasons for not drinking. As a dedicated athlete (although im actually not running at the mo, but will be back soon) i see no problem with athletes having the odd drink or too, as long as its kept at a sensible level ie. 5-10 pints a week. As long as it has not negitive effects on your diet, ie Body fat % increase, then there should be no problem with with a small alcohol intake. It is also in my opinion that alcohol is not a recreational drug, and if it ever been put in that catorgory then I would also be a tee-total. As for taste, i love the taste of a quality pint of beer, and i will not drink certain types of beer ie carling, as they taste horrible! But the fact that you are a tee total, does not make you a more dedicated athlete than those who do drink, i do give total respect to a person who does not drink! I tend to view things like chocolate in a similar way to you way view alcohol, although i dont view chocolate as a recreational drug. I can not even remeber the last time I ate chocolate and im struggling to even remember what it tastes like, because i believe that chocolate is an unnessacary dietary product.

Cheers anyway and luck forward to be training a racing with all you guys again soon!

On to victory
