Should we then consider that the atrocity of genocide committed by the Serbian army in the late nineties, or the torture and execution of their own population by the Iraqi and Saudi Arabian authorities is acceptable simply because these actions constitute part of their cultural paradigm and does not break their own laws. I suspect not! Equally, we cannot eliminate practices on a cultural basis to support our arguments. Possibly what is needed here is a working definition of a recreational drug. Perhaps our sports scientist can help in this quest. However, I do sincerely hope that if he or she chooses to impart their wisdom upon us that they can do so in the true spirit of intellectual debate. If not perhaps I am a Philistine, and gaining an education now necessitates that you use foul and abusive language to reason your argument.
