With reference to Ryun he was a high mileage runner, who used the mainly using the extensive ntervals mehtods. He trained over 80 miles per week.

With reference to speed drills. Cerrutty was using these in 1956! They had been developed by Mach a number of years previous. So prehaps the local sports uni kids are years behind!!!!!!!!!!!

When I mentioned weight training in my last letter I should say I'm pro its use. These are the exercises that I believe assist the middle distance runner. 1. PRESS 2. CHEAT CURL 3. ROWING EXERCISE 4. HALF SNATCH 5. POWER CLEAN

Any advice or suggestion here from Wayne on frequency and reps/sets configrations.

Please note that a strenght building program does not mean reducing mileage in the conditioning period.
