Just been reading through some older posts on chat page and I came across a few post from "Mr Anonymous" saying that uni teams are "true" teams and that we should not complain when they beat us.
There's just a few points that I would like clarifying.
1. Are uni teams allowed to compete in national championships?
2. Do you compete for a uni team as second claim runner, with your home club staying as your first claim club?
3. Are you allowed to compete in national championships as a second claim runner?
4. Why are "clubs" such as Loughborough Students allowed to import athletes from all over the country and use them in out uni competitions?
5. Surely these imported athletes should have to serve a ban for switching clubs like everyone else has too.
6. Surely its against the rules to poach or import athletes from other clubs? If its not why not?
7. If "clubs usch as Loughorough students are registered as official clubs, should they not be made to set up a junior section to their club and be made to develop their own athletes like every other club does?
Im all for uni's having athletics teams, which take part in uni competitions and maybe some local competitions, but surely they should not be able to import every tom, dick and harry. I know for a FACT that there are many memebers of the Loughborough Students "club" that are not studying at uni anymore, why should these members still be allowed to compete for a student club?? (although they can't compete in BUSA)
Maybe someone could answer some of the questions that I have raised. Paul Ard mabey you could shed some light on the points raise.
The Turlo has spoken.
